LIMA, Peru–The “big winning solutions” against climate change, at least in the near term, “are going to come from the land,” according to one top landscapes expert.
Speaking on 6 December during the opening plenary of the Global Landscapes Forum in Lima, Daniel Nepstad, Executive Director of the Earth Innovation Institute, detailed the astounding progress that Brazil has made in reducing deforestation while simultaneously increasing agricultural yields–noting, however, that one key group of actors has largely been left out of this success story.
