Fabio Pedercini is a Tree Genetic Resources and Landscape Scientist with the Tree Productivity and Diversity Theme at Landscape Alliance. His work centers on the conservation, management, and use of tree genetic resources, with a strong emphasis on forest landscape restoration and sustainable land use systems. Currently based in Rwanda, Fabio serves as Theme Coordinator, where he leads the implementation and monitoring of multiple projects focused on strengthening tree seed systems and improving access to high-quality tree germplasm. His work supports resilient landscapes and productive agroforestry systems by ensuring that farmers and restoration initiatives have access to quality planting materials and to decision-support tools for species and seed source to site matching. Fabio’s research and applied work bridge science and practice, contributing to global efforts in biodiversity conservation, climate adaptation, and sustainable development through improved tree-based systems.
