Muzione Christina Zoe Mwale is an intern at the Center for International Forestry Research (CIFOR), Lusaka, Zambia.
Muzione believes in the sustainable management and governance of natural resources (such as forests, water and wildlife), and has a keen interest in the livelihoods and gender dynamics of this, and its practical implications for the world we live in today.
At CIFOR, Muzione has participated in survey and operational meetings on a charcoal production and trade framework, with respect to the gender aspects in Zambia, and has worked on the Sustainable Wild Meat project by CIRAD, FAO and CIFOR as part of a team covering literature collection, review and compilation. She was previously engaged in a study to assess and validate the uptake of fertilizer trees and fodder shrubs in Lusaka and eastern provinces of Zambia with the World Agroforestry Center (ICRAF), and has done various work as a research assistant with Aruta Consult, a non-governmental organization working on climate change.
Muzione holds a degree in Forestry with a Merit, from the Copperbelt University (Zambia) and holds professional qualifications in: participatory planning, environmental projects and the international operating environment from the Oulu University of Applied Sciences, Finland. Muzione believes in making the world a safe and just place, with equal opportunities for all, with research as a foundation for this.
