Julia Naime Sanchez-Henkel

Julia Naime Sanchez-Henkel is a researcher contributing to CIFOR's Global Comparative Study of REDD+. She holds a bachelor degree in Biology from the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM) and in Economics from New York University (NYU). She also holds a master degree in Environmental Economics and Climate Change from the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE). In 2022, Julia obtained her Ph.D. in Economics at the Norwegian University of Life Sciences (NMBU). Her research is focused on the linkages between economic growth and deforestation, as well as on evaluating the effectiveness of conservation policies when implemented in different socioeconomic contexts. She has fieldwork experience in Mexico, Peru and Brazil.
