Untuk mengungkap perdebatan ini, satu tim peneliti menginvestigasi narasi \u2018pro\u2019 dan \u2018kontra\u2019 mengenai produksi minyak sawit. Telaah artikel terbaru mereka, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sciencedirect.com\/science\/article\/abs\/pii\/S1877343523000684?dgcid=coauthor\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">Produksi minyak sawit, nilai instrumental dan relasional: perang kehumasan untuk hati, kepala, dan tangan di sepanjang rantai nilai<\/a>, mengidentifikasi kendala komunikasi efektif dan menyatakan perlunya membangun dialog lebih baik menuju produksi sawit berkelanjutan.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p>Debat kelapa sawit berkelanjutan bisa jadi merupakan isu paling terpolarisasi terkait penggunaan lahan tropis. Di satu sisi, kritik menyoroti dampak negatif atas hutan hujan tropis, masyarakat dan keanekaragaman hayati. Di sisi lain, pendukung mengaitkan dengan potensi besar meningkatkan pendapatan petani dan penciptaan lapangan kerja. Topik ini menjadi debat panas dalam dekade terakhir, \u2018komunikasi antara kubu \u2018pro\u2019 dan \u2018kontra\u2019 terbatas, karena sejak nilai dasar sudah menghalangi kepentingan untuk mendengar perspektif lain,\u201d kata salah seorang penulis.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p>\u201cKeruhnya perdebatan ini memerlukan distingsi lebih jernih antara tanaman itu sendiri dan bagaimana produksi dilakukan untuk mewujudkan sistem sawit berkelanjutan,\u201d kata Andrew Miccolosi, salah seoerang penulis, serta Koordinator Nasional Center for International Forestry Research dan World Agroforestry (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.cifor-icraf.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">CIFOR-ICRAF<\/a>) di Brasil.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p>\u201cKuatnya asosiasi tanaman ini dengan kejahatan, sebagaimana terjadi pada sawit di sebagian dunia, dan kedelai di bagian lain, bisa terjadi karena mislabel. Ini bukan soal tanamannya, tetapi caranya diproduksi yang seharusnya menjadi fokus perhatian, karena dapat membuka ruang pemanfaatan sosial dan ekologis yang diharapkan dari potensi biologis spesies ini dalam lingkungan yang tepat.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p>Kelompok peneliti menelaah elemen debat menggunakan kerangka Values of Nature (VoN), yang membedakan tiga tipe spesifik VoN \u2013 \u2018relasional\u2019 (orientasi harmonis), \u2018intrinsik\u2019 (orientasi hak), dan \u2018instrumental\u2019 (orientasi tujuan).<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p>Para peneliti mengembangkan hubungan antar tipe VoN dan lima \u2018sumbu moralitas\u2019 kunci sebagaimana didefinisikan oleh Teori Landasan Moral (MFT) \u2013 Aman\/bahaya, Adil\/tidak adil, Otoritas\/subversi, Libertarian\/regulasi, Loyalitas\/khianat, dan Sanksi\/impunitas \u2013 serta mempertimbangkan bagaimana nilai dan moral tersebut menginformasi pandangan masyarakat mengenai sawit.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p>Mereka menulis, dari banyak contoh, kasus yang jelas mengenai bagaimana MFT dan VoN berkelindan pada pengambilan keputusan dalam arena kebijakan UE mengenai impor sawit. Mereka menjelaskan bagaimana pengambil kebijakan UE pada 2018 merespon \u2013 dan bertindak terhadap \u2013 pandangan negatif sawit sebagai penyebab utama deforestasi, yang terinformasi oleh sensasi kuat nilai intrinsik hutan hujan tropis. Voting UE untuk menghapus sawit dari program energi berkelanjutan (menjadi bukti nilai instrumental sumber daya alam) pada 2021 dan membatasi penggunaan pada tingkat konsumsi 2017.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p>Dengan membagi debat sawit ke dalam beragam sumbu moralitas, penulis menembukan bahwa dalam tiap sumbu, dimungkinkan terdapat landasan yang sama pada argumen \u2018pro\u2019 dan \u2018kontra\u2019 yang diakui \u2013 atau disangkal berdasarkan pada studi empiris lebih dalam atau asesmen bersama.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p>\u201cBagaimanapun, kecil kemajuan yang bisa diharapkan jika \u2018bias\u2019 atau rujukan [personal] non-netral dalam argumen di satu kolom (mis. manfaat ekonomi) dan sisi lain berargumen di kolom lain (mis. ketidakadilan sosial dan ancaman lingkungan),\u201d katanya. \u201cTimbal balik antara sumbu moralitas berbeda tidak terhindarkan dalam praktik pengambilan keputusan, dan merefleksikan posisi politis, dengan kompromi sesuai tingkat kepercayaan yang sayangnya sangat kurang dalam iklim politik saat ini. Kemajuan dalam menemukan kesamaan atau jalan tengah memerlukan langkah maju pada seluruh sumbu moralitas.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>Para penulis menyimpulkan bahwa mengklasifikasi perbedaan perspektif realitas dengan perbedaan aspek moralitas \u201cmemungkinkan munculnya pengetahuan dan pemahaman baru, melangkah ke arah efektivitas negosiasi dalam membangun inklusivitas rantai nilai sawit yang lebih menumbuhkan ekonomi, penghidupan petani, dan kesehatan lingkungan.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Apakah sawit memang bertindah sebagai \u2018demon\u2019, atau \u2018didemonisasi\u2019?
