Ekosistem yang dipenuhi oleh spesies pohon khas menyediakan habitat unik bagi beragam spesies flora dan fauna. Akarnya yang kuat berfungsi sebagai benteng alami yang melindungi kawasan pesisir dari abrasi dan gelombang.<\/p>\n<p>Mangrove juga berperan sebagai kawasan penyangga dan penyimpan \u2018karbon biru\u2019 yang membantu upaya mitigasi perubahan iklim.
