Temuilah Sonya Dewi.<\/p>\n<p>Seperti Hercule Poirot dan Miss Marple yang menemukan bukti untuk membuka tabir kejahatan dalam novel detektif Agatha Christie, Dewi mendedikasikan karirnya membantu membangun bukti saintifik yang diperlukan untuk mengambil langkah efektif dalam perubahan iklim dan membuat negara-negara bertanggung jawab atas <a href=\"https:\/\/sdgs.un.org\/goals\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">tujuan pembangunan berkelanjutannya<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Ilmuwan kelahiran Indonesia penggemar berat cerita detektif ini menjadi <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cifor-icraf.org\/staff\/sonya-dewi\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">Direktur Asia<\/a> di<em> Center for International Forestry Research and World Agroforestry<\/em> (CIFOR-ICRAF) dan perempuan pertama yang memegang jabatan tersebut. Sebelumnya, Dewi menghabiskan lebih dari dua dekade mengembangkan alat inovatif untuk pengambilan keputusan berbasis bukti dan dukungan pemangku kepentingan.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMenjadi ilmuwan di bidang khusus ini, kita juga perlu berfikir seperti,\u201d katanya. \u201cSaya ingin sekali menyediakan alat dan informasi bagi orang untuk membuat keputusan berdasarkan informasi dan memberi mereka kapasitas untuk memantau dan mengevaluasi apa yang terjadi setelah itu. Saya pikir ini menjadi hasrat saya selama ini.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Saat CIFOR-ICRAF berupaya menangani <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cifor-icraf.org\/research\/challenges\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">lima tantangan global utama<\/a>, ahli ekologi bentang alam yang berbasis di Bogor, Indonesia ini akan mengawasi sembilan negara di bawah <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cifor-icraf.org\/locations\/asia\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">Direktorat Asia<\/a>, dengan tingkat keterlibatan sangat aktif \u2013 seperti Indonesia dan India \u2013 hingga komitmen ringan dari Bangladesh, Nepal dan Kirgizstan. Negara lainnya yaitu China, Filipina, Srilanka dan Vietnam. Sebuah program baru di Papua Nugini juga akan segera dimulai.<\/p>\n<p>Direktur Asia baru CIFOR-ICRAF akan menangani negara yang geografi fisiknya sangat berbeda, dari hutan mangrove Indonesia, Bangladesh dan <a href=\"https:\/\/whc.unesco.org\/en\/list\/798\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">India<\/a> hingga pegunungan di China dan Nepal. Kondisi iklimnya juga bervariasi dari sangat kering hingga sangat lembab, selain itu tahap perkembangan dan ukuran lahannya juga sangat berbeda.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cKeanekaragaman konteks, tantangan dan peluang ini menarik,\u201d kata Dewi. \u201cHal ini berarti melihat di mana titik-titik ini dapat dihubungkan dan mendapatkan pandangan luas dari wilayah tersebut sehingga kita dapat mengambil pelajaran dari lintas negara.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Ironisnya, Dewi berada di profesi pilihannya ini hampir secara kebetulan. Dia berniat untuk belajar matematika di sebuah perguruan tinggi di Indonesia, namun saudara perempuannya mengambil formulir aplikasi yang salah atas namanya, ia akhirnya memilih fakultas terbaik di universitas lokal terbaik. Fokusnya beralih ke ilmu pertanian.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMelihat ke belakang, itu adalah bagian penting dari teka-teki,\u201d katanya. \u201cGelar pertama memperluas perspektif saya dan jadi relevan saat ini, karena saya sekarang mengerjakan hal-hal multidisiplin seperti pertanian, penggunaan lahan, ilmu tanah, dan hidrologi.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Setelah menyelesaikan gelar pertamanya di bidang ilmu pertanian, Dewi mengejar gelar master di bidang ilmu komputer di <a href=\"https:\/\/www.unb.ca\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">Universitas New Brunswick<\/a> di Fredericton, Kanada. Pada 1997, ia menerima gelar doktor ekologi teoretis dari <a href=\"https:\/\/www.anu.edu.au\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">Universitas Nasional Australia<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Dewi mengawali sebagai pekerja magang di CIFOR, yang kemudian menerimanya sebagai ilmuwan. Di CIFOR, dia pernah bekerja di daerah terpencil di Kalimantan, dan menyaksikan <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theguardian.com\/environment\/gallery\/2014\/feb\/28\/deforestation-of-kalimantan-rainforest-in-pictures\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">deforestasi parah pada awal 2000<\/a>-an. Ia memutuskan untuk memfokuskan karirnya untuk membangun bukti sehingga &#8220;orang tahu apa pilihan yang ada saat ini dan di masa depan,&#8221; katanya<\/p>\n<p>Pada 2005, Dewi pindah ke ICRAF meski tetap di Indonesia. Selama satu tahun berikutnya, dia terus mengerjakan proyek CIFOR di India pada waktu yang sama.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cDan sekarang saya di CIFOR-ICRAF. Jadi, saya datang dari kedua sisi organisasi,\u201d katanya.<\/p>\n<p>Dalam karirnya, pekerjaan Dewi terkait mitigasi perubahan iklim berisi pengembangan dan analisis penghitungan dan pemantauan karbon nasional dan subnasional; strategi lahan gambut; jejak karbon dari produksi minyak sawit; dan <a href=\"https:\/\/unfccc.int\/topics\/land-use\/workstreams\/redd\/what-is-redd#:~:text=REDD%2B%20is%20a%20framework%20created,carbon%20stocks%20in%20developing%20countries.\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">strategi REDD+<\/a> tingkat nasional.<\/p>\n<p>Salah satu pencapaiannya yang paling membanggakan adalah alat yang dikenal sebagai <a href=\"https:\/\/www.worldagroforestry.org\/output\/lumens#:~:text=LUMENS%20is%20a%20land%20use,of%20the%20landscape%2C%20analyzes%20trade%2D\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">LUMENS<\/a> (Perencanaan Penggunaan Lahan untuk Berbagai Jasa Lingkungan). Alat ini memperkuat negosiasi multi-pihak dalam merencanakan bentang alam berkelanjutan untuk pertumbuhan hijau yang dapat mendukung mata pencaharian dan membantu memulihkan jasa lingkungan.<\/p>\n<p>Pada 2012, Pemerintah Indonesia mulai menggunakan alat ini di semua provinsi untuk mengembangkan rencana aksi mitigasi perubahan iklim dan membantu mencapai Tujuan Pembangunan Berkelanjutan PBB.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSetelah diarusutamakan ke dalam rencana pembangunan jangka menengah, dampaknya bertahan setidaknya selama lima tahun bahkan setelah proyek selesai,\u201d kata Dewi. \u201cDan setelah ini diarusutamakan ke dalam rencana, pemerintah bertanggung jawab untuk mewujudkannya. Perencanaan berbasis bukti ini cukup efektif.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Dewi percaya ilmuwan muda memegang kunci masa depan CIFOR-ICRAF dan mendapati lapangan permainan lebih setara dibandingkan dengan apa yang dia hadapi di awal karirnya.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSuasana sekarang lebih terbuka terhadap perbedaan pandangan, etnis, dan bahasa,\u201d katanya. \u201cSaat ini, orang lebih menerima dan memahami.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Meski demikian, seperti diakui Dewi, masih ada kendala mobilitas vertikal bagi perempuan dan anak muda di organisasi mana pun.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSaran saya adalah untuk mencoba dan menemukan jalan atas tantangan ini dan mencari titik masuk lain jika jalan langsung tidak berhasil,\u201d katanya. \u201cMenjadi terhubung, banyak akal, dan taktis bisa jadi teman sepanjang jalan.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Memanfaatkan jaringan gabungan CIFOR-ICRAF yang terdiri dari lebih dari 700 staf yang bekerja di 60 negara di Global Selatan, Dewi bertujuan untuk membangun dampak positif melalui \u201cpemupukan silang\u201d dalam areanya untuk membantu negara lain saling memberi manfaat dengan berbagi sumber daya, pengalaman dan keahlian.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBagi saya, salah satu kontribusi terbesar yang dapat diberikan oleh ilmuwan terapan di tempat seperti CIFOR-ICRAF adalah memberdayakan masyarakat untuk membuat keputusan berdasarkan informasi berbasi bukti,\u201d katanya.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Ilmuwan dan detektif tampaknya memiliki sedikit kesamaan.
