Sekarang, ketika dunia sedang mencari solusi rendah karbon untuk pulih dari krisis akibat pandemi, sekali lagi hutan berada di garis terdepan dalam mendukung pertumbuhan ekonomi yang lebih lestari.<\/p>\n<p>Robert Nasi, Direktur Jenderal Pusat CIFOR dan Direktur Pelaksana CIFOR-Agroforestri Dunia (ICRAF) \u2013 bersama para investor dan perwakilan dari sains dan industri \u2013 berdiskusi dengan Pangeran Charles dari Kerajaan Inggris membahas percepatan sistem bioekonomi sirkular, suatu sistem ekonomi yang mengedepankan nol karbon, energi terbarukan, dan keselarasan pembangunan dengan alam. Hutan merupakan kunci dari proses percepatan tersebut dan diharapkan membantu menciptakan masa depan yang lebih baik bagi manusia dan bumi.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHutan dan pepohonan adalah infrastruktur hijau yang paling berharga,\u201d kata Robert dalam diskusi tersebut. \u201cKami memerlukan model ekonomi baru yang menghargai hutan secara tepat serta dapat mendorong investasi bagi pengelolaan bentang alam dan pembangunan berkelanjutan. Pandemi COVID-19 telah menyoroti betapa rentannya bumi dan manusia terhadap krisis kesehatan, lingkungan, dan krisis lain-lain, dan kita sangat perlu untuk membuat suatu ketahanan.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n<p>Bioekonomi sirkular, yang menekankan produksi sumber daya hayati terbarukan dari pepohonan dan tanaman serta konversi limbah menjadi produk bernilai tambah, pada saat ini tengah mendapatkan momentum untuk meningkatkan mata pencaharian dan kesejahteraan manusia. Pangeran Charles dan para pemimpin dari sektor bisnis dalam diskusi tersebut merumuskan peran hutan dan agroforestri dalam membatasi emisi gas rumah kaca dan limbah yang tak terkendali dalam sebuah rencana aksi pemulihan berkelanjutan dari krisis akibat pandemi COVID-19.<\/p>\n<p>Rencana aksi ini berfungsi sebagai dokumen panduan bagi Aliansi Bioekonomi Sirkular, yang diinisiasi oleh Pangeran Charles dalam kerangka <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sustainable-markets.org\/about\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">Inisiatif Pasar Berkelanjutan<\/a>. European Forest Institute (EFI) dan CIFOR bergabung dalam alisansi menyediakan sumber hasil-hasil riset hutan tropis dan mata pencaharian, akan memainkan peran kunci menyediakan informasi dan pengetahuan serta jaringan untuk menghubungkan investor, perusahaan, pemerintah dan organisasi non-pemerintah dalam mengembangkan bioekonomi sirkular secara global.<\/p>\n<p>Rincian tentang pengetahuan ilmiah dan teknologi terbaru yang ada dijelaskan dalam <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thesolutionsjournal.com\/article\/investing-nature-transform-post-covid-19-economy-10-point-action-plan-create-circular-bioeconomy-devoted-sustainable-wellbeing\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">10-Poin Rencana Aksi dalam mempercepat bioekonomi sirkular bagi kesejahteraan<\/a>. Inisiatif Pasar Berkelanjutan merupakan upaya dari Pangeran Charles dalam mempercepat proses ini dengan para anggota, termasuk para pimpinan dari berbagai perusahaan seperti HSBC Holdings, Bank Amerika dan AstraZeneca.<\/p>\n\n<p>Saat ini, telah banyak industri yang tengah mencari cara untuk dapat menggantikan sumber daya mereka yang tidak terbarukan seperti logam dan bahan bakar fosil dengan masukan biologis. Industri konstruksi juga sedang mengeksplorasi teknologi baru yang memungkinkan mereka menggunakan kayu \u2013 dibandingkan beton untuk bangunan bertingkat, dan berupaya untuk mengonversi limbahnya menjadi bahan bakar hayati.<\/p>\n<p>CIFOR saat ini sedang meneliti dampak pemanfaatan bioenergi, terutama dari aspek sosial, ekonomi dan lingkungan, serta berupaya untuk mengintegrasikannya ke dalam tujuan restorasi bentang alam berkelanjutan. Penelitan ini juga diharapkan dapat mengoptimalkan potensi dari penerapan sistem bioekonomi sirkular, yang juga membantu dalam mencapai Tujuan Pembangunan Berkelanjutan.<\/p>\n<p>Para ilmuwan saat ini tengah meneliti <a href=\"https:\/\/www.unece.org\/fileadmin\/DAM\/timber\/meetings\/2018\/20181105\/Draft_panel_concept_note_-_circular_economy.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">proporsi biomassa<\/a> terbaik dalam menjaga kelestarian lingkungan dan hutan, serta kontribusinya bagi ekosistem lokal dan transformasi ekonomi.<\/p>\n\n<p>Hutan, pengelolaan hutan lestari dan solusi berbasis hutan dapat menjadi landasan bagi transformasi, memajukan bioekonomi, meningkatkan keanekaragaman hayati serta mendukung terciptanya keseimbangan alam.<\/p>\n<p>CIFOR-ICRAF bekerja sama dengan EFI berupaya untuk mengoordinasikan kebijakan terkait hutan yang dapat membantu untuk memenuhi target-target dalam Kesepakatan Paris tentang perubahan iklim dan Tujuan Pembangunan Berkelanjutan. Pemimpin dari tiga organisasi tersebut kemudian <a href=\"https:\/\/www.efi.int\/articles\/open-letter-heads-states-need-earth-forest-summit\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">menerbitkan surat terbuka kepada kepala negara<\/a> di seluruh dunia untuk segera menggelar Konvensi Hutan dan Bumi.<\/p>\n<p>Menurut beberapa perkiraan, degradasi hutan dan bentang alam menimbukan kerugian sebesar 6 triliun dollar setiap tahunnya akibat hilangnya jasa lingkungan, barang, dan mata pencaharian. Investasi dalam restorasi hutan akan memberikan manfaat seperti tersedianya kebutuhan pangan, penyerapan karbon, mata pencaharian, dan sumberdaya terbarukan bagi sektor industri dan energi.
