Konsep bentang alam telah memunculkan banyak perhatian sepanjang tahun, walaupun juga muncul pertanyaan apa artinya bentang alam dan bagaimana pendekatan bentang alam bekerja.<\/p>\n<p>Dalam rangkaian tulisan di hari-hari ke depan, Saya akan mengumpulkan beberapa pandangan mengenai bentang alam yang muncul dari diskusi saya dengan banyak orang. Saya tidak bertujuan untuk menyimpulkan atau bahkan berpikir ilmiah dalam blog-blog ini, tetapi ingin menstimulasi pikiran dan pendapat sebelum Forum.<\/p>\n<p><b>Dimulai dari \u2013 Mengapa \u201cbentang alam\u201d menjadi konsep penting?<\/b><\/p>\n<p>Pendekatan bentang alam tidak baru bagi pembangunan, konservasi atau penelitian. Banyak, <a href=\"\/\/www.cifor.org\/online-library\/browse\/view-publication\/publication\/4136.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">termasuk CIFOR<\/a> menekankan pentingnya bekerja lintas sektor di lapangan. Apa yang baru, bagaimanapun, adalah minat tingkat tinggi dalam pendekatannya. Melihat pada reformasi berlanjut <a href=\"https:\/\/m.devex.com\/news\/what-to-expect-from-jim-kim-s-global-practices-plan\/82043\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">Bank Dunia<\/a> dan <a href=\"http:\/\/www.fao.org\/home\/en\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">FAO<\/a>, juga <a href=\"http:\/\/www.cgiar.org\/our-research\/cgiar-research-programs\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">Program Riset CGIAR<\/a>, jelas bahwa pendekatan lintas sektor dan inovatif tengah dikembangkan secara luas. Kita seharusnya melihat pendekatan bentang alam dari sudut pandang ini.<\/p>\n<p>Bahkan jika kita membatasai bentang alam pada pertanian dan kehutanan serta orang yang terlibat dalam aktivitas ini, jelas bahwa kita tengah membicarakan mengenai bagian besar masa depan bersama. Kita bergantung pada pertanian dan kehutanan untuk:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Menyediakan <a href=\"\/\/www.cifor.org\/online-library\/browse\/view-publication\/publication\/4103.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">penghasilan dan penghidupan<\/a> miliaran orang;<\/li>\n<li>Memproduksi makanan dan serat alam kita, juga menjaga <a href=\"http:\/\/www.worldenergyoutlook.org\/publications\/weo-2010\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">10 persen energi kita melalui biomassa<\/a>;<\/li>\n<li>Menjaga jasa ekosistem penting seperti keragaman hayati, suplai air, ketahanan ekosistem dan produktivitas lahan;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Pada saat yang sama, semua sektor ini mempolusi udara, air dan rantai makanan \u2013 serta menyebabkan <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ipcc.ch\/ipccreports\/far\/wg_III\/ipcc_far_wg_III_chapter_04.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">sepertiga emisi gas rumah kaca<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Menambahkan komponen lain bentang alam seperti energi terbarukan, pertambangan, kota, dan manfaat budaya, menjadi jelas bahwa bentang alam adalah bagian sangat besar masa depan kita.<\/p>\n<p><b>Jadi, apa yang kita harapkan ditingkatkan  melalui pendekatan bentang alam?<\/b><\/p>\n<p>Alasan utama untuk mengekplorasi pendekatan bentang alam adalah kondisi sektor berbasis-lahan yang memiliki catatan buruk dalam mencari solusi lintas wilayah kelembagaan mereka. Secara tradisional mereka terkungkung dalam kotak terpisah sepanjang sejarah aktivitas ekonomi, masyarakat profesional, batasan geografis dan struktur pemerintahan.<\/p>\n<p>Hipotesis dasar bentang alam adalah bahwa kita ingin menemukan solusi lebih baik jika kita mengeksplorasi peluang yang terpotong pemisahan sektor ekonomi, disiplin dan teritori. Oleh karena itu, kita akan menemukan solusi bersama yang lebih baik daripada sekadar penjumlahan bagian-bagian spesifik-sektoral.<\/p>\n<p>Dalam sudut pandang ekonomi, pendekatan bentang alam akan mencoba mengurangi atau menghilangkan eksternalitas di antara sektor berbasis-lahan. Dalam sudut pandang perencanaan, pendekatan ini akan melihat kelompok pilihan lebih lengkap, mengindari solusi yang terlalu dangkal. Ini juga akan mendorong pemangku kepentingan lebih beragam untuk mempertimbangkan kumpulan tujuan bentang alam lebih luas. Bukan berarti bahwa pendekatan bentang alam akan selalu memberi peluang hasil menang-menang, namun lebih pada menyediakan jalan untuk membantu kita menemukan timbal-balik yang lebih cerdas di antara beragam tujuan.<\/p>\n<p>Lebih jelasnya, bentang alam penting karena bentang alam merupakan bagian dari pembangunan berkelanjutan.
