Et l\u2019on d\u00e9couvre des tr\u00e9sors de savoirs et de biodiversit\u00e9, du plus grand herbarium d\u2019Afrique centrale, \u00e0 l\u2019immense biblioth\u00e8que de recherche en passant par la xyloth\u00e8que ou collection de bois tropicaux.<\/p>\n<p>Quoiqu\u2019isol\u00e9s, les lieux ont travers\u00e9 l\u2019histoire tumultueuse du pays, de l\u2019exploration coloniale et imp\u00e9rialiste belge par le fleuve Congo \u00e0 l\u2019exploitation intensive et meurtri\u00e8re de l\u2019arbre \u00e0 caoutchouc, dont tout le monde se rappelle les heures sombres. Aujourd\u2019hui, les app\u00e9tits coloniaux m\u00e2tin\u00e9s de science ont su faire place \u00e0 une r\u00e9serve de biosph\u00e8re de l\u2019Unesco de plus de 250 000 hectares et \u00e0 de nouveaux projets soutenus par des bailleurs de fonds internationaux. Longtemps d\u00e9laiss\u00e9e, Yangambi rena\u00eet donc lentement, notamment gr\u00e2ce au concours de l\u2019Union europ\u00e9enne et du <a href=\"http:\/\/www.cifor.org\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">Centre de recherche foresti\u00e8re internationale<\/a> (CIFOR). Petit \u00e0 petit, les chercheurs retrouvent le chemin des longs couloirs de sa biblioth\u00e8que et celui des pistes du plus grand massif forestier d\u2019Afrique, deuxi\u00e8me poumon vert au monde apr\u00e8s l\u2019Amazonie qu\u2019il faut prot\u00e9ger de la d\u00e9forestation.
