Dans le but d\u2019apaiser ces peurs, le gouvernement leur a allou\u00e9 une parcelle de for\u00eat \u00e0 l\u2019ext\u00e9rieur du parc pour leur permettre de couper et de vendre du bois. Cette surface bois\u00e9e devait tenir 20 ans dans la mesure o\u00f9 les r\u00e8gles de coupe et de plantation des arbres \u00e9taient respect\u00e9es. Malheureusement, ces r\u00e8gles n&rsquo;ont pas \u00e9t\u00e9 suivies et les arbres ont maintenant disparu. La communaut\u00e9 se retrouve sans aucune for\u00eat, d\u00e9pourvue des ressources vitales dispens\u00e9es par les arbres, et qu\u2019elle tente d\u2019obtenir en labourant un sol st\u00e9rile. Il y a ici un enseignement implacable \u00e0 tirer pour ceux qui scindent les terres \u00e0 pr\u00e9server sans plus de consultation ni de consid\u00e9ration des besoins locaux.
