Photo:Ollivier Girard\/CIFOR<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p><em><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\"><span lang=\"fr-FR\">Note de la r\u00e9daction: L\u2019outil <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/em><em><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\"><span lang=\"fr-FR\">CRiSTAL-Forest<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/em><em><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\"><span lang=\"fr-FR\">, son mode d\u2019emploi, des \u00e9tudes de cas et des informations concernant la possibilit\u00e9 d\u2019\u00e9changer ses exp\u00e9riences avec l\u2019outil, sont disponibles <a href=\"http:\/\/www1.cifor.org\/cristal-forests\/home.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">ici<\/a>. <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/em><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\"><span lang=\"fr-FR\">BOGOR, Indon\u00e9sie \u2014 <a href=\"http:\/\/www.forestsnews.org\/23676\/gradualisme-vs-transformation-comment-changer-face-au-changement-climatique\">On a beaucoup \u00e9crit<\/a> sur les diff\u00e9rentes fa\u00e7ons dont les communaut\u00e9s rurales interagissent avec les for\u00eats pour s&rsquo;adapter au changement climatique.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\"><span lang=\"fr-FR\">Pour concevoir des projets de d\u00e9veloppement visant \u00e0 soutenir davantage l&rsquo;adaptation au climat dans ces endroits, il est n\u00e9cessaire de prendre en compte la diversit\u00e9 des cultures locales, ainsi que les risques propres \u00e0 chaque communaut\u00e9 face au changement climatique.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\"><span lang=\"fr-FR\">C&rsquo;est pr\u00e9cis\u00e9ment l&rsquo;objectif d&rsquo;un <a href=\"http:\/\/www1.cifor.org\/cristal-forests\/home.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">outil r\u00e9cemment publi\u00e9<\/a>. <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\"><span lang=\"fr-FR\">L&rsquo;outil de planification de projet, <a href=\"http:\/\/www1.cifor.org\/cristal-forests\/home.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">CRiSTAL-Forest<\/a> (acronyme anglais signifiant Outil d\u2019Identification des Risques Communautaires &#8211; Adaptation, Moyens de Subsistance et For\u00eat), a \u00e9t\u00e9 d\u00e9velopp\u00e9 et test\u00e9 par des scientifiques du Centre de Recherche Foresti\u00e8re Internationale (CIFOR) et de l\u2019<a href=\"http:\/\/www.iisd.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">Institut<\/a> <\/span><\/span><\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/www.iisd.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\"><span lang=\"fr-FR\">International du D\u00e9veloppement Durable<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/a><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\"><span lang=\"fr-FR\"> (IIDD) en collaboration avec le r\u00e9seau <a href=\"http:\/\/www.c3d-unitar.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">UNITAR C3D+ (D\u00e9veloppement des Capacit\u00e9s face au Changement Climatique)<\/a>.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\"><span lang=\"fr-FR\">Il vise \u00e0 mettre en \u00e9vidence la fa\u00e7on dont les for\u00eats contribuent aux strat\u00e9gies d&rsquo;adaptation des populations face au climat, mais il permet \u00e9galement d\u2019analyser les moyens des communaut\u00e9s, disposant de ressources foresti\u00e8res, face aux changements. <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\"><span lang=\"fr-FR\">Les d\u00e9cideurs politiques sont souvent confront\u00e9s \u00e0 des difficult\u00e9s quand ils planifient et de con\u00e7oivent des projets strat\u00e9giques d&rsquo;adaptation qui ont font appel aux connaissances locales pour soutenir les agriculteurs, d\u00e9clare Houria Djoudi, scientifique du CIFOR. L&rsquo;outil CRiSTAL peut leur \u00eatre utile en car il place le ph\u00e9nom\u00e8ne dans son contexte parmi d&rsquo;autres facteurs environnementaux.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\"><span lang=\"fr-FR\">\u00abL&rsquo;outil pourrait faciliter la compr\u00e9hension des diff\u00e9rentes strat\u00e9gies d&rsquo;adaptation dans leurs contextes, car il y a un manque g\u00e9n\u00e9ral d&rsquo;outils pratiques pour \u00e9tudier la vuln\u00e9rabilit\u00e9 face au changement climatique, ainsi que l&rsquo;adaptation dans un contexte dot\u00e9 de multiples facteurs de stress.\u00bb, d\u00e9clare Mme Djoudi.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\"><span lang=\"fr-FR\">Les chercheurs ont initialement pens\u00e9 que CRiSTAL-Forest serait plus facilement utilis\u00e9 par les acteurs aux niveaux national et r\u00e9gional. Toutefois, des ateliers de terrain ont permis de tester l&rsquo;outil, et les scientifiques ont constat\u00e9 qu&rsquo;il \u00e9tait \u00e9galement utile pour les communaut\u00e9s locales.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\"><span lang=\"fr-FR\">\u00abNous avons d\u00e9couvert qu&rsquo;il pourrait servir comme outil pour permettre d\u2019\u00e9tablir une gouvernance adaptative lors d&rsquo;interventions politiques et pour aider \u00e0 inclure les strat\u00e9gies, des besoins et des savoirs locaux dans la planification de l&rsquo;adaptation\u00bb, explique Mme Djoudi. <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\"><span lang=\"fr-FR\">\u00abBien que le changement climatique ne figure pas toujours parmi les contraintes les plus importantes qui p\u00e8sent sur une communaut\u00e9 sp\u00e9cifique, il devrait \u00eatre pris en compte lors de la conception et mise en \u0153uvre d&rsquo;un projet de d\u00e9veloppement; en particulier dans les domaines qui favorisent les moyens de subsistance d\u00e9pendant de ressources naturelles\u00bb, dit-elle.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\"><span lang=\"fr-FR\">En pratique, l&rsquo;utilisation de l&rsquo;outil oblige les utilisateurs \u00e0 identifier les ressources importantes pour les moyens de subsistance; r\u00e9sumer les informations sur les changements climatiques observ\u00e9s et projet\u00e9s; d\u00e9crire les al\u00e9as climatiques actuels et probablement futurs; analyser les risques climatiques; et \u00e9valuer les strat\u00e9gies d&rsquo;intervention existantes.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\"><span lang=\"fr-FR\">Les for\u00eats fournissent une gamme de biens et de services essentiels que les hommes utilisent pour faire face aux crises, mais cette contribution est souvent n\u00e9glig\u00e9e dans les plans et politiques nationaux d&rsquo;adaptation. Cependant, les for\u00eats sont elles-m\u00eames touch\u00e9es par le changement climatique et par l&rsquo;intensification des pressions anthropiques telles que l&rsquo;agriculture. Selon Mme Djoudi, ce double impact combin\u00e9 peut compromettre la capacit\u00e9 d&rsquo;une for\u00eat \u00e0 fournir des biens et services, tout comme la capacit\u00e9 d&rsquo;adaptation des populations.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\"><span lang=\"fr-FR\">\u00abLes d\u00e9cideurs politiques de nombreux pays africains ont exprim\u00e9 le besoin d&rsquo;avoir des outils pratiques pour les aider \u00e0 int\u00e9grer les for\u00eats dans les plans nationaux d&rsquo;adaptation.
