CIFOR est\u00e1 buscando un nuevo Director General, para liderar procesos de investigaci\u00f3n que ayudan a entender c\u00f3mo utilizar los bosques tropicales para contribuir a enfrentar los desaf\u00edos de la pobreza, las enfermedades, la destrucci\u00f3n ambiental, la corrupci\u00f3n, la discriminaci\u00f3n y la violencia. El Director General deber\u00e1 inspirar a los investigadores, dentro y fuera de CIFOR, a juntar evidencias y argumentos que sirvan para formular agendas pol\u00edticas y cambiar la vida de la gente.<\/p>\n

Eso es lo que he intentado hacer desde que llegu\u00e9 a CIFOR hace una d\u00e9cada y pas\u00e9 a ser su Director en el a\u00f1o 2001. Dentro de nueve meses le tocar\u00e1 a otra persona, alguien que est\u00e1 convencido de la importancia de los bosques y capaz de ense\u00f1arle a la otra gente el por qu\u00e9. Esa persona podr\u00eda ser usted o alguien que usted conoce. El trabajo es fascinante, emocionante y lleno de satisfacciones y, s\u00ed, cansa un poquito. Sobretodo, le da la oportunidad de hacer algo significativo en un mundo que tanto lo necesita. Las ideas pueden ser fuerzas muy poderosas para un cambio positivo, y la investigaci\u00f3n produce ideas.<\/p>\n

Como centro de investigaci\u00f3n global, ligada a los gobiernos, las ONGs, las comunidades, las empresas, los donantes y los cient\u00edficos, CIFOR est\u00e1 bien posicionado para promover nuevas ideas sobre los bosques. Si usted es bueno para coordinar y motivar y tiene una visi\u00f3n sobre c\u00f3mo los bosques y la investigaci\u00f3n pueden ayudar a que la gente viva mejor, ya lleg\u00f3 el momento de aplicar.
