Esta es una de las principales conclusiones del evento sobre las actualizaciones internacionales en materia de bosques y cambio clim\u00e1tico.<\/p>\n<p>En ese sentido,  Nicholas Stern, profesor del London School of Economics (LSE) habl\u00f3 del que podr\u00eda ser el principal reto actual: luchar contra el cambio lim\u00e1tico a la vez que se supera la pobreza. <!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Para eso, es necesario trabajar en la productividad de las tierras agr\u00edcolas de modo que se reduzca la presi\u00f3n sobre el bosque, a la vez que se avanza en el desarrollo de la agricultura.<\/p>\n<p>Un tema, por ejemplo, es la eficiencia en el uso de la tierra para el ganado. Brasil, por ejemplo, tiene destinada una hect\u00e1rea por cada cabeza de ganado. Le hace falta trabajar en sus sistemas productivos para lograr un mejor uso del espacio y disminuir la presi\u00f3n sobre sus selvas.  <\/p>\n<p>Durante el evento, se insisti\u00f3 en la necesidad de actuar ahora para preservar los bosques para las futuras generaciones, aprovechando la atenci\u00f3n que seespera tenga el tema el a\u00f1o entrante, pues fue declarado el a\u00f1o de los vbosques, en transuici\u00f3n con el 2010, que fue el a\u00f1o de la biodiversidad. <\/p>\n<p>Aunque se requieren los recursos que resultar\u00edan de un acuerdo legalmente vinculante en las negociaciones de cabio clim\u00e1tico, ante la lentitud del proceso que durante la primera semanan de negociones no mostr\u00f3 resultados  concretos., se insisti\u00f3 en que hay que avanzar.<\/p>\n<p>Pero para avanzar se requieren recursos e inversiones tanto del sector p\u00fablico como del privado, de modo que se garantice el cuidado de los ecosistemas y a la vez una mejor calidad de vida para las comunidades que habitan en los bosques. <\/p>\n<p>La llegada de nuevos fondos, tambi\u00e9n va a depender de la transparencia.
